ENEFITS OF MASSAGE THERAPY
If you suffer from Chronic Pain; Fibromyalgia; Stress; Arthritis and more or you just need to relax...Massage Therapy can benefit you

Following is a list of surprising health benefits of massage therapy that everyone should know

1.     It counteracts all that sitting you do
Desk workers, beware.  More advanced forms of postural stress show up as pain or weakness in the low back and gluteus caused by prolonged periods of sitting.  Luckily, massage can counteract the imbalance caused from sitting, which means you can keep your desk job—as long as you schedule a regular massage.

2.    It eases muscle pain
Got sore muscles? Massage therapy can help.  Massage increases and improves circulation, in much the same way rubbing your elbow when you hit it on a table helps to relieve the pain.

3.    It soothes anxiety and depression
Human touch, in a context that is safe, friendly and professional, can be very therapeutic and relaxing.  Women diagnosed with breast cancer who received massage therapy three times a week have reported being less depressed and less angry.  And, a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, found that patients who were depressed and anxious were much more relaxed and happy, and had reduced stress levels after massage.

4.    It improves sleep
Not only can massage encourage a restful sleep—it also helps those who can’t otherwise comfortably rest.  Massage promotes relaxation and sleep in those undergoing chemo or radiation therapy.  Also, according to research, if you’re a new parent, it can help infants sleep more, cry less and be less stressed.  Deb Burnett can give parents tips on baby massage that the parents can perform on the baby at home.  Call 618-783-3772 for an appointment or class availability.

       5.  It boosts immunity
A 2010 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that massage boosts patients’ white blood count, which plays a large role in defending the body from disease.  Most studies show that massage can reduce anxiety, blood pressure and heart rate; and lowering these are likely to cause stress levels to drop – key to building immunity.

       6. It relieves headaches

Next time a headache hits, try booking a last-minute massage.  Massage decreases frequency and severity of tension headaches.  Research has found that a single session of massage therapy has an immediate effect on perceived pain in patients with chronic tension headaches.

Fijian Massage is a unique technique in which the therapist uses his/her feet versus hands to do the work while their client relaxes on a heated floor mat. Using gravity, leverage, and body weight the broad surface of the therapist’s foot (or feet) can deliver the deepest of pressure and amazing tissue engagement causing quick endorphin release for a wonderfully relaxing effect. Because of the size of the tool being used (the foot) therapists are able to access more muscles at the same time enabling them to deliver depth like no other massage. Mainly clients want a therapeutic deep massage that is also relaxing. With the Fijian, the main deep work is with the heel of the foot. This deep pressure is softer than an elbow, yet it is a stronger stroke. As a bonus, clients often find that the repair happens much quicker with the Fijian Barefoot Massage.

Brought back from the island of Kadavu, Fiji by Lolita Knight, Fijian (barefoot) Massage is one of the deepest, yet most nourishing treatments available. Fijian Massage has been handed down for generations. Modifications have been made to make it more comfortable and palatable to Westerners (traditional Fijian massage is typically done while the receiver just simply lies on the ground rather than comfortable mats or pillows).

PUSH® therapy is a comprehensive system that utilizes a customized treatment program to insure that maximum, long-term results are achieved with each client.

The PUSH Treatment Plan involves PUSH Therapy  treatments, self-treatments, PUSH Mobility Training, and PUSH Core Strengthening  techniques.

Soft Pressure Stimulation techniques are used during PUSH® treatments to restore blood flow and oxygen to tissue that has developed chronically tight or rigid patterns from repetitive use, overuse, or repetitive muscle fatigue.

Self-treatment techniques are taught to help reinforce the treatment results as well as help prevent the symptoms from returning.

PUSH Mobility training locates the original source of the chronic tension and changes those patterns of negative repetitive use into pain-free and mobile activity.

PUSH Core Strengthening techniques are used to help change the structure of the body in such a way that the body aligns itself naturally. This allows the muscles to relax and function normally, without chronic tension or rigidity.

Collectively, the PUSH Treatment Plan  program works to eliminate the pain and tension symptoms, but more importantly, works to eliminate the original source of the dysfunction and helps create permanent change.
Results often surprise clients, as increased range of motion, structural changes, and pain relief can be seen almost immediately.

What to Expect:
• You will remain fully clothed lying on a treatment table
• Loose-fitting, soft clothing is strongly recommended.
• The first session includes a complete structural evaluation and lasts

Sessions last approximately

90 minutes and cost $80.00

We also off CHAIR MASSAGE
CHAIR MASSAGES ARE $1.00 PER MINUTE
They typically 15 to 20 minutes

Chair massage is a short massage, anywhere from five to 30 minutes (typically 15 to 20 minutes), done through the clothing. It focuses on key tension areas in the back, neck, shoulders and arms. A professional practitioner performs it in a specially designed ergonomic massage chair.
Another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. Many people feel uncomfortable getting undressed for traditional massage that is done on a table. With seated massage, people can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that they may feel having to disrobe.

The sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage making it very convenient for anyone to fit into their schedule. And because the sessions are shorter, the cost for a chair massage is relatively low. These benefits make chair massage safe, convenient and affordable.

Benefits of Chair Massage

  • Boosts energy, alertness, and productivity
  • Increases Circulation
  • Reduces muscle tension and pain
  • Helps prevent Repetitive-Stress Injuries
  • Relaxes and rejuvenates
  • Relieves emotional stress
  • Can help even if you are short on time

Ear Candling - Approx. 45 min. $40.00

A natural remedy for those suffering from wax build-up, swimmer's ear,
itching ears and allergies.  A recommended service at the
change of each season.

How is Ear Candling Done?

Ear candling requires the use of ear candles, which are made of cotton or linen that's wound into a cone shape, soaked in wax, and then allowed to harden.

This hollow candle is inserted through a hole in a plate to collect wax and then placed into the external ear canal. The candle is lit at the opposite end.

This creates a low-level vacuum that draws ear wax and other debris out of the ear and into the hollow candle.

It is a very soothing and relaxing procedure.

Remember if you suffer from allergies or sinus problems
a Netti Pot is also very helpful

Reflexology - Approx. 45 min $45.00

This natural healing technique focuses on manipulating specific points of the feet that correspond to specific body functions...digestion, respiratory, liver, kidneys and gallbladder. Reflexology promotes increased circulation, relaxation and an
